Okay, so maybe this still wouldn't have fixed her Ben is Glory problem, nor would it have saved her mom, or even herself, but damn if it wouldn't have been a much better way to make a clean break from Riley, and maybe, just maybe, be more open to the idea that Spike is more than a villain unable to do evil for the moment.

Oh this is gorgeous! I love introspective Buffy! I do wish she had acknowledged that Riley had been the bad guy in that situation in the show!
Oh, I loved this little fic! Reveals so much to Buffy and speaks to the true character of each of the men. It could so be expanded! I am always up for Spuffy goodness and yours is the best!
