Just found this site and this is the first story I've read here. I'm pretty sure I;ve read longer stories set in the same location, although I don't think Buffy was quite to old. I'll head back to see if this is part of a series.
I really enjoyed the loving established relationship between Buffy and Spike, and how they found a place that suits them so well. And love their little friends!
Sorry to hear about your loss and grief in the notes. It must have been difficult to have those added responbsibilities and your brother's illness right when you wanted to be at your grandmother's funeral.

Author's Response:Thank you for the review. <3 It really helped me feel better during a rough month. My grandmother died about a week ago. My brother-in-law was going to watch the farm animals and pets for my parents, but then had a nasty bout of heat stroke that they thought at first might be a heart attack. That leaves only me to watch the farm, so I'm missing the funeral. Getting a review, especially on this site that seems to go so unnoticed, was a real boost. Thank you. I'm working towards writing more stories and getting my butt in gear to get work done on my Thursday's Child rewrite so I can start posting that series here.
